Specialist Vocal Performance (two years)
The Specialist Vocal Performance (SVP) programme is a two-year course offering a comprehensive and detailed study of Western Classical vocal performance (e.g. Opera, Oratorio, Recital) to selected Diploma level singers.
An emphasis is placed on practical training, leading to a monthly concert, recital, or opera performance. Weekly individual tuition, group workshops and lectures amounting to a minimum of 5 hours of contact, will be held on:
- Vocal Technique and Principles
- Styles, Interpretation and Application to Repertoire
- The History and Evolution of Western Classical Vocal Performance
Students joining the Specialist Vocal Performance programme will have demonstrated an interest to specialise in advanced Western Classical vocal performance, specific abilities to perform, strong commitment to attend classes and suitable time management to undertake a more advanced course.
