Towards the end of each academic year, KMMC celebrates an annual event to showcase performances of students based on their sessions with its faculty members of national and international acclaim. This year KMMC in view of this took the opportunity to invite and felicitate “The legendary singing sensation”, P.Susheela who is renowned for her incredible entry into the Guinness book of India for her innumerable number of songs. She was overwhelmed with the ‘state-of-the-art’ infrastructure and facilities at KMMC which caused her to remark as follows “It felt like entering into an international institution powered by a magical touch throughout”. On seeing the performances showcased by the students of KMMC, she felt immensely overjoyed to see such young budding talent performing so professionally and divinely. She was emotionally touched on seeing a video featuring her achievements over the years. Her felicitation at KMMC will be a milestone and hallmark in the pages of KMMC’s history. The students of KMMC consider themselves fortunate enough to be present on such an honorable occasion.
To mark the “Annual event” every year, our Founder and Principal, Dr.A.R.Rahman and Executive Director, Mrs. Fathima Rafiq has decided to felicitate one legendary musician every year for their phenomenal contributions to the music industry so as to stimulate students to become better performers.
Preparatory concert was organized for all our adorable and talented students to showcase their skills that they have garnered at KMMC. It gave them an opportunity to exhibit their extraordinary talent and also to get over their stage fear, enabling them to become full-fledged performers. It was an evening filled with fun and frolic presenting the emerging talent from different departments. Every year, this concert is celebrated as a Christmas program to usher in a merry Christmas and a very happy New Year. The versatile, stunning and multifaceted stars-Suriya and Jyothika had witnessed the entire concert as proud parents of ‘Diya’. Hindustani ensemble, western classical choir comprising of adults and children, Piano recitals from across all age groups was quite a feast for the eyes and the ears. Mozart, Schubert, Bach, Burgmuller seemed to be contending with Kabalevsky and Erik Satie. Ghazal, Kajri and Khayal were some of the genres of Hindustani music along with a Tabla solo that offset the classical Arias and the popular songs from the well- known musicals like ‘The Messiah’, ‘Phantom of the Opera’ etc. As the ragas like Kirwani, NayakiKanada, AhirBhairav and Niroshta unfurled, they integrated with the strains of Dominae Ego Credini, White Christmas and Ding Dong Merrily on High. The highpoint came with the composition of our own student composer Pranav Nigam for viola and piano, played by guest artist Jordan Bergmans on viola and James Bunch on piano. All our students performed extremely well and had won the hearts of everyone present. The zeal, dynamism, vitality, high standards of rendition and charismatic appeal of the performers at KMMC is all set to change the face of music in the world.
