On the occasion of World Music Day, 2022,KM Music Conservatory is proud to have been associated with Beats Beyond Borders--a brilliant endeavour that brought together girl students in their early teens from twenty five local corporation/government schools in Chennai to give them a taste of American music cutting across different genres of music, viz. jazz, rock, hip hop, film music, etc.
The workshop, curated by the ShreyaNagarajan Singh Arts Development Consultancy, ran from June 14-25th, and was heldin collaboration with Rotary International, in particular, the Rotary Club of Madras East, and the US Consulate of Chennai. The girls were mentored by some of the fantastic faculty and volunteers at the college who did their utmost to make the sessions fun and interesting as they provided the youngsters with a foundational understanding of a medley of American musical genres. The event was coordinated by Dr. Adam J. Greig, Academic Coordinator at KMMC.
