On April 1st, the institute held its first edition of the intra-college band fest. Students from across programmes and batches were encouraged to audition with their original compositions. Finally, eleven bands were shortlisted to have a face-off with each other. A mind-bending range of genres and styles were represented as the bands performed their originals to an animated audience with an assortment of musical instruments. From raaga based-Tamil songs to pop, our students showed originality, expression, technique and presentation skills.

Three toppers emerged after our esteemed judges, piano and Western voice faculty, Gerardo Sanchez Lara and Subin Sebastian Mathai respectively, had keyed in the final scores. Bands Hazmat and Sultan of Rock became second and first runner ups respectively, while The Barney Collective took away the top prize. Cash prizes were awarded to all winning bands and the first prize winners were also promised a slot during the coveted KM Day event in May 2023. The first edition of the band fest was completed with resounding success amidst an electrifying ambience.
